REGISTRATION FOR THE BÜRGERFEST 2024 AT SCHLOSS BELLVUE - BERLIN, GERMANY

Dear Kenyans,

The Embassy of Kenya in Germany and the Kenya Diaspora Alliance Germany (K-DAG) e.V., are pleased to invite you to register for the Citizens' Festival in the park of Bellevue Palace in Berlin on September 14, 2024. The Federal President will be celebrating volunteer work in Germany and at the same time promoting voluntary civil society engagement.

This year's Citizens' Festival places a special focus on Africa. For the first time, a non-European country is the festival's international partner: the Republic of Kenya. President William Ruto will grace the event. The motto for this year's Citizens Festival in Swahili is "Pamoja - Stronger Together." Under this motto, non-profit organizations, volunteers, and companies make the broad social commitment in all its facets visible. This year's partner Federal State is Lower Saxony.

Visitors have the opportunity to view the official residence of the Federal President, including the palace gardens and the offices and representative rooms, up close. They would also learn about the diversity of Kenya and Africa.

Ambassador Stella Mokaya Orina appeals to all Kenyans in Germany to attend the event with their families and friends. Admission is free, but registration is required.

Germany's Federal President Steinmeier Extends invite to the Citizens' Festival in Berlin in September 2024

Germany’s Federal President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier has extended an invite to the Citizens' Festival scheduled to take place on 13th and 14th September 2024, in the park of Bellevue Palace in Berlin. With the Citizens' Festival, the Federal President is honouring volunteer work in Germany and at the same time promoting voluntary work in civil society.

On the first day of the festival (Friday, 13 September), Federal President Steinmeier and Elke Büdenbender will host people from all over Germany who have made outstanding contributions to the common good through their voluntary work.

On Saturday, 14 September 2024, Open Palace Day, the Federal President will welcome all interested citizens to his official residence.

This year's Citizens' Festival places a special focus on the neighbouring continent Africa. For the first time, a non-European country is the international partner country of the festival, Kenya it is!!

President William Samoei Ruto will be travelling to the Citizens' Festival. The 2024 motto picks up on a term in Swahili: "Pamoja - Stronger Together".

Under this motto, non-profit organisations, initiatives and companies will make visible the broad social commitment in all its facets. This year's Germany’s partner federal State is Lower Saxony.

On both days, the citizens' festival offers the opportunity to get to know the great diversity of voluntary work. Visitors will also have the opportunity to take a close-up look at the Federal President's official residence in Berlin, including the palace park and the official and representative rooms.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION FROM THE KENYAN DIASPORA ON THE DRAFT DIASPORA POLICY 2024

The Government of Kenya, through the State Department for Diaspora Affairs, has embarked on the development of the Kenya Diaspora Policy 2024 to align and respond to emerging issues since the adoption of the Diaspora Policy in 2014.   

The Policy’s Goal is to protect, engage, empower and prosper the Kenyan diaspora. 

As a major stakeholder in the Policy formulation process, the Kenyan Diaspora is hereby invited to read through the draft Kenya Diaspora Policy 2024 and provide proposals and comments to enrich the draft Policy.

From 01.01.2024, an electronic travel authorization (eTA) is required for ALL visitors (foreigners except citizens of EAC member states) including infants and children, to enter the Republic of Kenya.

This must be applied for via the following link: www.etakenya.go.ke

eTA on arrival is NOT possible!

Already paid and issued eVisas are valid and can be used to enter Kenya until the expiry of their validity. You do NOT need an eTA when you have a valid visa.

It is no longer possible to apply for the eVisa.
